Safari

Friday Jenn and I head to the Lion Park. I was excited to go on my first "safari" of sorts and see up close some the animals that inhabit the continent of Africa and in South Africa. But the Lion Park doesn't have just lions. They also have other animals, such as this guy:

Here is the vehicle that we took for our one hour safari guided tour. It was only us and another couple from China, so we basically had our own private tour!

Cheetahs!

I think I can say for both of us that the giraffes were hands down the best part of the day. What I didn't know though, (and Jenn didn't up to this point) that Jenn was a little (or a lot) jumpy around giraffes; particularly because of it's long, slimy and coarse tongue. It was hilarious because she wanted to feed the giraffes, but yet didn't, for fear of the tongue. It was quite entertaining!!

I, on the other hand, did not mind one bit and was having the time of my life!

After the Lion Park, we headed to the Monte Casino (no worries, not to gamble! :)) to see the inside sights such as this:

STARBUCKS!!!!

This is the only place in Jo'Burg that I know of that has a Starbucks, and I haven't had since when I went to London in March. Too bad (or maybe not) that they don't have one closer to where I live!

After going to the Apartheid Museum the next day (which was very educational!), I headed to the airport once again to send Jenn back to Texas. The week went by too fast, but at the same time the Father was gracious to redeem the time and make it seem longer than it really was and we were able to soak of every minute!!
